Summary: The Nikon 1 is Nikon’s first compact system camera and uses a brand new CX-format sensor roughly half way in size between a compact camera’s and an SLR’s. Nikon has also introduced a range of CX-format lenses, including a kit zoom, telephoto, superzoom and pancake lens. The V1 has a toughened body, accessory port and electronic viewfinder, but otherwise it’s the same as the J1.
